As the 2024 general election approaches, Ghana is gearing up for one of the most pivotal periods in its democratic journey.

In the spirit of advocating for peaceful elections, 4Kids Paradise, the highly-acclaimed children’s programme on Joy Prime, launches its new campaign, dubbed 'Peace Champions'. This initiative will take peace advocacy directly to schools across the country, involving children in the conversation for a brighter, more peaceful future.

A nation-wide initiative

The Peace Champions campaign will see children from different regions in Ghana come together, united under one goal: to advocate for peace during the upcoming elections. This is spearheaded by For Kids Paradise’s three presenters; Akosua Debra, Kekeli Apenu Such-man, and Cayla Lady King.

The campaign aims to give students a platform to amplify their voices and spread the message of peace.

In a series of assemblies held in various schools, students will engage in discussions about peace and how it can be maintained during elections. These symposiums will not only educate the students about the importance of a peaceful electoral process, but will also empower them to be peace ambassadors in their communities.

The role of children in peace advocacy

At the heart of the Peace Champions campaign lies the belief that children are not just passive observers but active participants in the stability of their country. Often, when political disruptions occur, it is the children who become first-hand victims of instability. This campaign, therefore, seeks to turn that narrative on its head by making children the voices for peace.

Children are the future leaders of the country, and their participation in peace advocacy gives them a sense of responsibility toward their nation. 4Kids Paradise believes that instilling these values in young ones not only fosters a peaceful election but also ensures long-term stability and unity for Ghana.

When there’s unrest in the country, children suffer the most. So, why not be the ones who speak up for peace?

Collaborations and entertainment

Beyond the symposiums, Peace Champions will also feature collaborations with various personalities, from entertainment figures to influential leaders, all of whom will join forces with the students in advocating for a peaceful electoral process. The idea is to make peace advocacy not only informative but also entertaining.

This initiative will showcase peace-themed performances, art displays, and even musical engagements led by the students, ensuring that the message of peace is not only heard but felt. The campaign will run across all channels of Joy Prime, ensuring wide reach and impact.

Ghana has long been a beacon of democracy in Africa, and with that comes the responsibility of maintaining peace during its electoral process. While adults play the central role in the political sphere, the Peace Champions campaign reminds us that children, too, have an essential part to play. This campaign ensures that children understand their role in a democratic society and equips them with the tools to advocate for peace, not just during elections but in their everyday lives.

Join the movement

The Peace Champions campaign will be making its way to schools in every region of Ghana. Stay tuned to 4Kids Paradise on Joy Prime for updates on all the exciting activities planned for the campaign.

Let’s join hands with the students, support their efforts, and ensure that Ghana remains a haven of peace during these elections. Because when children speak, the nation listens.

As the famous proverb goes, “Peace is the voice of the future. Let the children lead the way.”

Be a part of the change. Be a Peace Champion! Because peace starts with you.
