Renowned Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, Dr. Michael K. Obeng, and his non-profit organization, RESTORE Worldwide, Inc., in partnership with the Brogya Foundation, have announced their annual life-changing humanitarian medical mission to Ghana from November 1st to 11th, 2024.

A team of over twenty dedicated healthcare professionals will offer free reconstructive surgeries to more than 100 patients at the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital, continuing RESTORE's legacy of transforming lives around the globe.

This year's humanitarian mission is made possible through the generous support of Nana Bediako Brogya Sarpong the Dompiahene of Agogo Asante Akyim Traditional Area, through the Brogya Foundation.

Reflecting on the mission’s importance, Dr. Obeng shared: “Returning to Ghana is always personal for me—it’s where my journey started. I’m incredibly grateful to Nana Bediako Brogya Sarpong and the Brogya Foundation for making this year’s mission possible. Together, we restore hope, function and aesthetic form”.

"This medical mission is a testament to the power of compassion, skill and dedication," Dr. Obeng indicated.

He added: "Every year, we witness the profound impact that reconstructive surgery has on the lives of our patients. For many, it is not just about healing physical deformities, but also about restoring their dignity, confidence and hope for a brighter future."

Now in its 16th consecutive year, this humanitarian service highlights RESTORE's global impact, providing hope and healing to thousands of people through nearly 2,000 surgeries across three continents. Countries including Guatemala, Laos, Mexico, Nigeria, and Gabon have all benefitted from RESTORE’s great works.

The monetary value of these surgeries exceeds an astounding US$100million, but the true impact is measured in the lives changed and the communities restored

On his part, founder of the Brogya Foundation, Nana Bediako Brogya Sarpong said: "We are excited to host Dr. Obeng and the RESTORE team in Agogo.”

"Their work brings hope and healing to our communities, and it is an honor to support their mission. This collaboration is a testament to what can be achieved when we come together for the greater good of our people,” he added.

Dr. Obeng, originally from Ghana, is passionate about giving back to his homeland and communities worldwide.

This year’s medical mission is a collaborative effort of exceptional teams of volunteers hailing from five different countries and three continents. Notably, Dr. Atila Mehmet, a German based celebrity plastic surgeon known for his work with European public figures, and head of RESTORE Europe will be joining the team for the sixth time.

Other distinguished volunteers include Dawn Sutherland, a former Xerox Executive and current Director of International Relations for RESTORE, as well as Dr. Barry Freeman, Chief of Anesthesia Services at MiKO Plastic Surgery in Beverly Hills; and Dr. Paa-Ekow Hoyte-Williams, Chief of Plastic Surgery at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi, Ghana who also serves as the Director of Medical Affairs for RESTORE.
