The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has renewed his criticism of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, accusing him of mismanaging Ghana’s economy.
Mr Mahama expressed his concerns during a community engagement in Amanfrom as part of the second phase of his Greater Accra regional campaign.
In response to Dr Bawumia’s recent appeal to be elected president, Mahama argued that Ghanaians would rate the Vice President poorly, giving him an ‘F’ for his handling of the economy.
He highlighted the country's economic challenges, emphasizing that Bawumia’s stewardship had not lived up to the promises made by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
Mr Mahama further urged the government to take responsibility for the economic hardships affecting the country, rather than shift blame.
He pointed out that Ghanaians are experiencing the consequences of poor economic management, with rising costs of living and financial instability.
The NDC leader concluded by reassuring his audience that under his leadership, a future NDC government would focus on restoring economic stability and improving the livelihoods of Ghanaians.
“Recently, I heard the flagbearer of the NPP, the vice president, saying that he has performed excellently as vice president so they should promote him to president. And I said, I don’t know who marked his script and whether he marked it himself, but I can tell him that when it comes to his performance, the mark that the people of Ghana will give him for management of the economy is F, fail."
“The mark that the people of Ghana will give him for management of the economy is F. F means fail. Because when it comes to the economy, they failed completely, absolutely. And they cannot escape blame for where they have landed us," he stated.
