Accra Lions will host Premier League newcomers Vision FC at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, 16 September 2024.
After finishing last season as one of the best teams in the league, Lions have made a sloppy start to the 2024/25 campaign with a defeat to former champions Medeama SC.
Bernardinho Osah’s calmly converted penalty meant Lions lost 1-0 at the TnA Stadium last weekend.
Lions will look to take another step towards matching last season’s record, which saw them finish just behind FC Samartex 1996 in the league standings.
Meanwhile, newly promoted Vision FC managed a goalless draw at home to Berekum Chelsea in their debut encounter in Tema last weekend.
Head coach Nana Agyemang believes his side plays a similar style to Accra Lions.
“I think Accra Lions are a team that like to play from the back, and they play through the phases, and Vision also does the same, so I think it's going to be an exciting game,” he said.
“We're going to mix things up. Sometimes we'll press high, and other times we'll drop off, depending on the personnel we use, especially in the front line,” he added.
This will be the first time Accra Lions and Vision FC face each other in the Premier League.
The match will kick off at 3:30 p.m. on Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
