Black Stars defender Daniel Amartey and Turkish club Besiktas have agreed to part ways.
The contract "which had been terminated by mutual agreement" brings an end to the transfer controversy between the two parties, which had escalated in recent weeks.
Besiktas had attempted to sell the centre-back, who had one year remaining on his contract after joining the club on a two-year deal in 2023.
However, 'strange' Amartey allegedly refused to travel for the move, with the club's spokesperson, Huseyin Yucel, claiming that the player only had interest in moving to England, even though the transfer window had been shut down.
The former Leicester man responded by describing the accusations as "untrue".
Amartey, who has not played this season, is now a free agent and could join a club of his choice.
The 29-year-old was part of Leicester City's Premier League-winning squad in the 2015/16 season and has made 55 appearances for Ghana's national team, the Black Stars.
