FIFA, in collaboration with the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has commenced training for the second batch of female football administrators from the Regional Women's Division One Leagues.
80 administrators across the country are expected to benefit from the initiative, with the first batch having already completed their session.
The second batch commenced on Thursday, September 12, at the GFA Technical Centre, Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, Prampram.
The three-day course, which runs from until September 14, 2024, aims to improve leadership, strategic planning, communication, and marketing skills in women's football.
"Capacity building for football administrators is one of FIFA's Women's Football Development programmes. The idea is to get the game as much to the communities as possible," said Thubaelihle Sibanda, who is the instructor for the course.
"Through this programme, it's a way to work with administrators all over the world, empowering them with essential skills for them to run clubs and try to lead clubs to a step of professionalisation and sustainability."
Jennifer Amankwaa Sarpong, the Head of Women’s Football Development at the GFA, explained the decision to target Division One club administrators in the capacity-building activity.
"All these people make the management of a team possible to carry out the day-to-day activities of the club that is why we included them for us to impact knowledge into them so they can go back and implement it," she said.
