The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Ho Central in the Volta Region, Edem Kofi Kpotosu, has vowed to secure 90% of the votes for former President John Dramani Mahama, himself, and the NDC in the upcoming 2024 general elections.
Kpotosu made this declaration after officially filing his nomination to contest in the elections at the Electoral Commission’s office in Ho.
Addressing party supporters, Kpotosu expressed confidence in his ability to galvanize support for the NDC in Ho Central, a traditional stronghold for the party.
He emphasized his commitment to working tirelessly to ensure a resounding victory for the NDC, saying, “We are not just aiming to win; we are targeting an overwhelming 90% of the votes to send a clear message of our strength and unity. This is a mission to reclaim our beloved nation and put it back on the path of progress and prosperity.”
Kpotosu outlined his strategic plan to engage constituents, including youth, women’s groups, and traditional leaders, to rally behind the NDC’s vision.
He highlighted the significance of community engagement and grassroots mobilization, stating, “We will not leave any stone unturned. Our message of hope, development, and transformation will reach every household in Ho Central. We need every single vote to make a difference, and I am confident we can achieve this target.”
The Parliamentary Candidate also praised the leadership of John Dramani Mahama, underscoring his track record of development and his appeal to Ghanaians. “John Mahama is the leader we need at this critical moment. His experience, vision, and empathy resonate with the people, and we must work together to ensure he returns to the presidency to continue his work of building a better Ghana,” Kpotosu added.
Kpotosu's declaration has energized NDC supporters in the constituency, many of whom see his candidature as a fresh opportunity to strengthen the party’s hold on Ho Central. Party loyalists and executives present at the filing ceremony expressed their optimism about the chances of the NDC in the forthcoming elections.
The filing of nominations is a critical step in the electoral process, and Kpotosu’s commitment to winning an overwhelming majority of votes is expected to set the tone for a vibrant campaign season in Ho Central.
With the elections fast approaching, Kpotosu’s promise to deliver a decisive victory for the NDC reflects the party’s broader strategy to reclaim power in 2024.
