The incumbent Member of Parliament for Kumawu, Ernest Yaw Anim, has officially filed his nomination to contest in the 2024 general elections.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) lawmaker is seeking to retain his parliamentary seat for a second term, after replacing the late Philip Basoah last year.
Mr Yaw Anim, who filed his nomination at the Electoral Commission's district office on Monday, September 9, was accompanied by party supporters, constituency executives, and local chiefs.
His filing was met with enthusiastic crowds, dressed in NPP colors, who cheered as he submitted the necessary documents for his re-election bid.
Speaking to the media after the event, Mr Yaw Anim expressed confidence in his chances of retaining the seat.
He highlighted his achievements in areas such as education, health, and infrastructure, promising to build on these successes if given another term.
He also emphasised his dedication to representing the interests of his constituents in Parliament.
The MP further urged party members to remain united ahead of the elections, stressing the importance of teamwork in securing victory for both himself and the NPP's presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Mr Yaw Anim called on voters in Kumawu to continue supporting the party to ensure continued development in the constituency.
