Sunderland AFC has announced the signing of Ghanaian international Abdul Salis Samed on a season-long loan from French Ligue 1 side RC Lens.
The English club confirmed the transfer late Friday night.
In an official statement, Sunderland AFC expressed their excitement about the new addition to their squad. "We are delighted to announce the signing of Salis Abdul Samed. The 24-year-old midfielder has joined us on a season-long loan from RC Lens, pending international clearance," the statement read.
Sunderland’s Sporting Director, Kristjaan Speakman, shared his enthusiasm about the new arrival.
"We are pleased to welcome Salis to Sunderland. He is a disciplined defensive midfielder, both in and out of possession. His profile adds a new dimension to our midfield. We believe he will thrive in the competitive environment of the Sky Bet Championship.
"Salis’ experience in Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League will be invaluable as we support him in adapting to English football," Speakman said.
The club is committed to helping Salis Samed settle in and make the most of his time with Sunderland.
