Ghana’s Zinabu Issah has a chance of winning a medal in the Women’s Shot Put event at the Ongoing Paralympic Games in Paris after securing a final spot.
She emerged as the top seed in the F57 qualifiers with a new personal best throw of 8.67 meters.
Zinabu beat competition from Neutral Vetokhina E in second, Liberia's Angie Myers who finished third, and fourth Marina Charlotte Houndalowan of Benin.
The final comes off at the Stade France on Thursday, 8:35am Ghana Time.
Zinabu, who had qualified for the finals of the Women's Discus but missed out on a medal, will be determined to redeem herself in the upcoming para-athletics event.
Ghana was represented by four athletes including Patricia Nyamekye and Isaac Obeng with Tahiru Haruna set to compete in para-powerlifting on Sunday, September 8.
