The Black Stars of Ghana intensified their preparations on Tuesday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, with 22 players participating in the training session ahead of their crucial Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifier against Angola.
Notably absent from Tuesday’s session was Leicester City's Jordan Ayew, who is expected to join the squad on Wednesday.
Of the 22 players who trained, all three goalkeepers, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Frederick Asare, and Joseph Wollacott, were present.
The outfield players, led by skipper Thomas Partey were Fatawu Issahaku,, Antoine Semenyo, Brandon Thomas-Asante, Ebenezer Annan, Jonas Adjetey, Tariq Lamptey, and Ibrahim Osman.
Also present were Inaki Williams, Joseph Painstil, Abdul Mumin, Jerome Opoku, Kingsley Schindler, Alidu Seidu, Majeed Ashimeru, Abu Francis, Mohammed Salisu, Forson Amankwah, and Mohammed Kudus.
The Black Stars began their preparations on Monday in Accra with just 10 players, as many of the squad members had not yet arrived.
The team travelled to Kumasi on Tuesday afternoon with 22 players.
Coach Otto Addo, who is leading the team through their final preparations, will wrap his final session on Wednesday afternoon.
The clash against Angola marks Ghana's first step in the journey towards AFCON 2025, before a tie against Niger next week Monday in Berkane, Morocco.
