The Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) has repaired the faulty elevator at the surgical department.
This follows a visit by the Minority in Parliament to the premises to investigate why the hospital and the Ministry of Health had not maintained the elevator.
However, just a few hours later, the hospital announced on its Facebook page that the lift had been repaired and that surgical services had been restored.
"The elevator at the Surgical Department has been fixed today and it is now working," the Facebook post read.
On August 26, KBTH announced the suspension of elective surgeries and temporary relocation of emergency cases.
According to KBTH, the suspension and relocation were necessary because there have been ongoing issues with the use of lifts at the surgical block.
