The founder of Perez Chapel International, Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, has been inducted into office as the President of the Bible Society of Ghana.
His induction is expected to help make the Bible more affordable and contribute to the availability and accessibility of God's Word while encouraging its use to transform lives.
According to the immediate past president of the Society, Apostle Dr. Opoku Onyinah, each time God offers a role to an individual, He grants them the grace to fulfill it. Therefore, he prayed that his successor would seek help from God in carrying out his new role.
He made these comments at the induction service of the new President on September 1st at Perez Chapel, Dzorwulu.
Archbishop Agyinasare is the first leader of a Charismatic Church to assume the position.
Accepting the call to this high office, Archbishop Agyinasare lauded his predecessor, Apostle Onyinah, for his commitment and dedication to advancing the mission of the Bible Society during his tenure as leader.
The founder of the Perez Chapel said acknowledged that such a position comes with a lot of responsibilities however he was moved to accept the role out of "admiration and reverence for the Bible Society of Ghana,”
In this regard, he said "It is with great joy and pride that I accept fully accept the role of President of the the Bible Society of Ghana," he said.
The President of the Bible Society acknowledged that the Bible plays a pivotal role in the training and upbringing of the youth.
As such with his new role, he would contribute meaningfully to the Society's divine mission, which is to make the Bible available, affordable, and actively used to transform lives across the nation.
The church founder also appealed to Christians to financially support the Society, to aid in translating the Bible into many languages and making it available in schools and public places.
“As Ghanaians let us own this mission and not wait for others to come from their countries to do it for us,” he urged.
Additionally, he committed to making the Society self-sustaining to enable it to fund its projects.
“We will explore innovative ways to generate income, secure partnerships and engage the broader community in supporting our mission. Together we must build a Bible Society that is not only self-governing but self-sustaining” he added.
Also, Archbishop Agyinasare promised to work tirelessly to ensure that the Bible society's voice would be heard on national issues.
“I will work tirelessly to ensure that Bible Society has a seat at the table and that our voice is heard in all relevant discussions,” he said.
The President also pledged to engage with all church leaders to integrate the distribution and study of the Bible into their activities. He further committed to promoting the annual Bible Week as a celebrated event on all church calendars.
He explained that Bible Week would be a time of renewal, reflection, and recommitment to the Word of God.
The founder of Perez Chapel also expressed his gratitude to the Society for bestowing such a great honor on him.
Also, other members of the Bible Society and its Council were also inducted into office.
