Presidential candidate of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) Kofi Akpaloo has refuted claims of receiving free contracts from the government.
According to him, he sometimes has to borrow money from external sources to execute these same projects.
Speaking with Mercury Quaye on Cruise Control he noted that "I am not a criminal, but I am a businessman."
"Nobody gave me money to supply, so I had to borrow money from the commercial bank to execute the project”, he said on Hitz FM.
He further reiterated there was no guarantee of receiving funds for projects from government agencies.
“People think the moment you get the project, it would mean the government or agency has given you money to supply or thrive”, he stated.
He also added he ‘hustles’ before payment even after funding the project himself.
“No, it’s not like I have to borrow my money to supply and then with payments, I have to hustle to make it happen or even get my money”, he added.
However, he cautioned individuals to shy away from sharing information without facts.
” He doesn’t know what he is talking about, he should have his facts right before he concludes. They should go and do those findings before they say anything they do not know”; he said.
