The People’s National Convention (PNC) has once again rescheduled its national delegates congress, now set for Saturday, September 7.
This marks the second postponement of the event, which will see the election of both national executives and the party's flagbearer for the upcoming December 7 elections.
Initially, the congress was planned for Saturday, August 24, but was first postponed to Saturday, August 31. The latest delay pushes the event back by another week.
”Following a National Executive Committee meeting held today 30th August, 2024 at the Headquarters in Accra, a decision was taken to postpone the National Delegates Congress to September 7th, 2024,” a statement issued on Friday, August 30.
”It would be recalled that the party had earlier on scheduled its National Delegates Congress for the 31st of August, 2024 to reorganize its structures and to ready itself for the 7th December, 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary elections,” the statement signed by Acting General Secretary Prince Agyemang Duah added.
“Members, supporters, sympathizers and the general public and most especially aspirants are entreated to take note of this new development and comply or act accordingly,” it concluded.
The rescheduling comes as the party continues to prepare for the crucial event, which is expected to play a key role in determining its leadership and strategy for the December elections.
Despite the changes in the timeline, the PNC remains committed to conducting a successful congress that will shape its future political direction.
