The running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has reminded Ghanaians, particularly the people of Wenchi to massively vote for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the December 7 election.
According to him, by voting for the NPP flagbearer, they will be honouring the legacy of late former Prime Minister, Kofi Abrefa Busia.
Napo as he is popularly known made these remarks when he took his campaign to Wenchi in the Bono region accompanied by some NPP bigwigs.
The team engaged chiefs, the clergy and Wenchi residents.
Wenchi constituency has been the NPP’s stronghold since its inception until they relinquished it to the NDC in 2020.
On the back of this, Napo reminded the resident that Dr Busia did his best for the country and the Progress Party which birthed the NPP and has produced former President Kufuor and President Akufo Addo and therefore a vote for Bawumia will honour his memory.
The NPP Parliamentary candidate for Wenchi, Kojo Frempong pledged his commitment to win the seat back for the NPP.
He called for support from the chiefs and the people to ensure his resounding victory in December
The Omanhene of Wenchi Nana Ampem Anye Amoampong Tabrako III commended Dr. Opoku Prempeh for excelling in the sectors he supervised in government.
He highlighted some of the challenges facing the people and called for support from government
