Ghana head coach Otto Addo has urged players of Ghanaian roots who want to play for the Black Stars to make their decision early in order to get used to the team and the environment.
In recent times, there have been reports of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) showing interest in bringing foreign-born Ghanaian players into the national team.
Eddie Nketiah, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro are among a host of names linked with the Black Stars but none of them was in Addo's squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
Speaking on the chances of the players making the switch, the gaffer said, "What goes for the others also goes for them; the door is still open.
"The first time I came here as head coach, I was after them [Nketiah and Hudson-Odoi] but they kept saying they needed time and they are still not here but the door is still open.
"To be honest, I think players who want to join the national team should come early; come early to familiarise with me, with the team, with the players and with Ghana as such."
Nketiah and Husdon-Odoi both played with England's youth teams before eventually getting an appearance with the senior national team while Owusu-Oduro, who plays for AZ Alkmaar has been a part of the Netehrlands junior teams.
