Black Stars coach Otto Addo has said the country will welcome all players with Ghanaian roots.
Otto Addo was answering questions on the possibility of inviting some European based players of Ghanaian descent.
England based forwards Callum-Hudson Odoi and Eddie Nketsiah, though eligible to play for Ghana are yet to commit their international future to the Black Stars.
Speaking on the subject, coach Otto Addo said; “We are focusing on our next game and one thing you can be sure of, every player who is good and has Ghanaian heritage and could play for the national team, we are interested.
“If somebody has a Ghanaian name and he plays in the top leagues in Europe, this question is for sure.”
Last week, Dutch-born Ghanaian goalkeeper, Rome Owusu-Oduro made the headlines after the Ghana Football Association made contact with representatives of the AZ Alkmaar goalkeeper.
Although the discussions were reportedly positive, the shot stopper was not named in Thursday's 23-man squad invited for the first two 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
Owusu-Oduro has made three appearances for AZ Alkmaar this season and has kept two clean sheets.
The Black Stars face Angola in Kumasi on Thursday, September 5, 2024 before travelling to Morocco where they face Niger four days later.
