The running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)'s flagbearer, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has reaffirmed the party’s commitment to establishing a Women’s Development Bank if elected.
At the NDC’s manifesto launch in Winneba, Central Region, on Saturday, August 24, she explained that the bank would address the challenges female entrepreneurs face in accessing loans from financial institutions.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang emphasized that an NDC government would create job opportunities, reduce financial barriers, and support the growth of female-owned businesses.
“The Women’s Development Bank will be established to empower female entrepreneurs and small business owners by providing low-interest loans, financial education and sustainable support.
“This initiative will create job opportunities and bring down the financial barriers that many women face when starting and sustaining businesses,” Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang said.
She explained that, the initiative would boost the businesses of female entrepreneurs and curb the harassment they often face when seeking loans.
“Additionally, the bank will provide women-led businesses with advisory services and low-interest loans, further supporting their growth and success.”
