The Saturday's edition of JoyNews’ Newsfile will be discussing the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) solutions for the Ghanaian economy and the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) conditions to sign the peace pact ahead of this year's election.
The flagbearer of the NPP, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has assured Ghanaians of bold and innovative solutions to address the nation's challenges during the party’s manifesto launch in Takoradi.
He pledged his commitment to addressing economic instability, unemployment, and infrastructure deficits, which directly impact the daily lives of Ghanaians.
He highlighted key initiatives, such as the digitisation of public services and the Free Senior High School programme, as part of his administration's strategy.
These measures, he explained are designed to promote long-term sustainable growth while easing the burdens faced by ordinary Ghanaians, hinting at new policies aimed at boosting job creation and expanding access to affordable healthcare.
However, with the nation facing rising inflation, a depreciating cedi, and significant debt, how convincing are these solutions, and what impact will they have on the lives of ordinary Ghanaians?
Also to be dissected, is the NDC's conditions laid before the National Peace Council before they would sign a peace pact ahead of the upcoming polls in December.
Among other things, they want the President, the Inspector-General of Police, the Chief Justice, the National Security Coordinator, and the Attorney General to all sign the pact.
Meanwhile, the National Peace Council has stated that it will need to engage with the party to address the requirements.
Will the party change its entrenched position?
Stay tuned in to the programme as the panel unpacks these issues.
