The Happy Man Foundation, as part of Charger Limited's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, has made a significant donation to LEKMA Hospital, bringing relief to 12 new mothers detained due to their inability to settle their medical bills.
The Foundation cleared a total of GH¢21,182, easing the financial burden on these families during what should be a joyous time.
Amanda Jissih, who led the donation drive on behalf of the Happy Man Foundation, highlighted that Charger Limited views this act as part of its social contract with the community.
She encouraged those present to support the company through their prayers.
This timely donation provided crucial assistance to the detained mothers, who had been unable to leave the hospital with their newborns due to unpaid medical bills.
The foundation’s gesture underscores its commitment to giving back to the community and helping those in need.
LEKMA Hospital officials expressed deep gratitude for the donation, noting the significant relief it brings to the affected mothers.
"This donation will greatly benefit these mothers who have had to stay here because they couldn’t raise the funds to pay their bills," one official stated.
She added, "We, like Oliver Twist, humbly ask for more of such donations to continue supporting the underprivileged in our community."
Through this initiative, the Happy Man Foundation, under Charger Limited's CSR program, has made a meaningful impact by settling the medical bills of these new mothers.
