Ghanaian media personality, Oheneni Adazoa, has recounted how she met her current husband, while she was away in the United Kingdom.
The Kumasi-based presenter popularly known for her social-issues-oriented programme told Delay in an interview that she was calling someone in Ghana from her UK base years ago when the call went to a different number.
According to her, she mistakenly dialled the wrong number which went to her current husband.
"I met my husband in 2003 through a wrong call. I was calling someone in Ghana. I missed some of the digits so it went to another person [who is now my husband.]
My mother who was based in Italy had visited Ghana for my auntie's funeral so I was calling to find out preparations for the funeral when the number went to another person," she said.
She said she kept in touch with the man for one year after which they later arranged for marriage. They got married when they had not even met until, she decided to leave the UK and permanently return to Ghana.
Oheneni noted that despite being married for twenty years, she has not been able to have a child.
Nonetheless, she remains hopeful about the possibility of becoming a mother before she passes away.
“I’ve been married for twenty years and still don’t have a child, but I’m continuing to seek one. It hasn’t been easy; it’s been a challenging journey,” she shared.
Adazoa also expressed her desire for people to understand that not having children was never her wish.
“I’m the only daughter, and my mother passed away last year. I believe her passing was partly due to the stress of not having grandchildren, which took a toll on her.”
