The Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Mahamudu Bawumia says he will kick start work immediately after he is sworn in as President in 2025.
According to him, there is so much work that needs to be done to bring Ghana back to its glory days, hence he would not ask for a grace period to settle in.
Speaking at the Manifesto reading on August 18, he said was already on top of the issues and has therefore drafted solutions to the problem.
“I will work for you and with you. With honesty and integrity, with wisdom and decisiveness. I have clarity of mind as to what I want to do from day one as President.
"I will not ask you for a honeymoon to cool off and think about what to do with the responsibility you give me. I am prepared and ready to serve," he said.
His comment is in response to the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama urging Ghanaians, particularly trade and labour groups, to grant him a grace period if he successfully regains power.
This request was in response to the increased demand for improved conditions of service from these groups.
But, Dr Bawumia argued that he was a better man for the job since he did not need time to study the system.
