The Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Andrew Egyapa Mercer, has expressed his confidence in the leadership of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate.
According to the minister, Dr. Bawumia is the right leader to propel the country to the next level of development.
In an interview with JoyNews during the launch of the party's manifesto, Mr Egyapa Mercer said the NPP’s achievements will once again earn the trust of voters, noting that the nation has recovered and stabilized from the previous economic challenges.
He added that the NPP has managed the economy better than the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“When you put the economy fundamentals back in shape, the sky can only be the limit. Just as we did between 2017 and 2020 that Ghana was touted as one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. I have no doubt in my mind that the good people of this country will renew our mandate for Dr. Bawumia to take us to the next level with bold solutions.”
Additionally, Akim Abuakwa South MP, Samuel Atta Akyea believes that the future of Ghana lies with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) under the leadership of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
According to him, Dr Bawumia offers a better path for Ghanaians rather than "recycled" former president John Mahama.
Speaking ahead of the NPP's manifesto launch in Takoradi on Sunday, Mr Atta Akyea asserted that the NPP has consistently introduced impactful policies, such as the Free SHS initiative, which he believes will continue to shape Ghana's future positively.
“After the manifesto launch we should all see that the future of this country is not with the recycled Mahama but with Dr Mahamudu Bawumia,” he said.
