Ghana was represented at the 6th edition of the "We are KOICA" (WeKO) launch ceremony by the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
The event took place at the KOICA head office, with global supporters joining online via Zoom.
This year's WeKO membership comprises 130 individuals, including 31 global supporters from 26 countries and 99 local Koreans.
Among these global supporters is a proud representative from Ghana, highlighting the country's active participation in global initiatives.
The initiative aims to foster international relations and collaborate on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects.
The ceremony featured engaging activities, including quizzes and trivia, such as identifying the President of KOICA and recalling the year KOICA was founded.
The host skillfully engaged both global and local members, ensuring an interactive and lively atmosphere.
The central theme of the event was "Time Travel," symbolizing the continuity of global issues from 1999 to 2024.
The program was designed as a 'time slip,' taking participants on a journey from 1999 to the present.
The event included a time machine boarding video, mission progress updates, and a group ceremony, making it more colorful and unique than ever.
The President of KOICA, Chang Won Sam, delivered a speech, highlighting the significance of the event and the ongoing commitment to addressing global challenges. He encouraged supporters to work hard towards a better future.
The launch ceremony was not just a celebration but a powerful reminder of KOICA's commitment to fostering global cooperation and addressing enduring challenges.
By bringing together a diverse group of global and local supporters, KOICA continues to build bridges across nations, working towards a better and more sustainable future.
The event set the tone for what promises to be an impactful and collaborative journey for the 6th WeKO members as they contribute to KOICA’s mission of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and enhancing international relations.
