Midfielder Prosper Boakye netted late for Medeama SC as they defeated Asante Kotoko 2-1 in a thrilling opener of the new TNA Stadium in Tarkwa.
The substitute latched onto a ball that was headed into his path and struck it home from close range to secure the winner in the 89th minute.
Earlier in the match, the score was tied at 1-1 after substitute Bernard Somuah equalized following Nana Kofi Babil's first-half opener.
Diawisie Taylor had initially given Medeama the lead, but his goal was ruled out for offside around the 15-minute mark.
Over $13 million was invested in the construction of the newly inaugurated TNA Stadium by Goldfields Ghana Foundation.
The venue is awaiting final approval from the Club Licensing Department of the Ghana Football Association to serve as Medeama SC's permanent home,
