Ghanaian midfielder Abu Francis was sent off in Cercle Brugge's Europa League win over Molde on Thursday night.
The 23-year-old received his marching off orders in the first half before his side went ahead to record a 1-0 victory at home.
Francis was named in the starting lineup and was part of a double midfield pivot alongside countryman, Lawrence Agyekum. He saw red in the 29th minute of the game for a poor challenge on his opponent.
Despite being a man down, the Belgian side took a first-half lead and held on to secure the victory.
However, the one-goal was not enough for them having lost 3-0 in the earlier fixture the week before.
The exit means Cercle Brugge will now have to face Wisla Krakow in an attempt to make the group stages of this season's Europa Conference League.
