Board member of Accra Hearts of Oak, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has assured fans that the club will soon be competitive again, despite recent struggles.
Hearts of Oak have struggled for consistency, flirting with relegation in each of the past three seasons. Last term, the club only maintained its Premier League status on the final day of the season.
Speaking to JoySports on the current state of the club, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe said that the club was on the right path.
''I can assure you that within the next five years, you will not believe (the improvement), the standard of football alone at Hearts of Oak and its performances within and outside Africa will shock a lot of people. It is a long term project and I will tell the supporters that we are building something they will one day be proud of.'' he said.
Hearts had another close shave with relegation last season
Meanwhile, Hearts have moved their pre-season camp to Asutsuare in the Shai Osudoku District of the Greater Accra Region.
Coach Abubakar Ouattara and the rest of the team will train in Asutsuare for a week, before enplaning to Lome, Togo for the final leg of their pre-season.
The Phobians last won a major trophy in 2022, when they beat Bechem United to win the FA Cup.
