Former President John Dramani Mahama has responded to President Akufo-Addo's slip of the tongue in which he referred to him instead of the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
The President mistakenly mentioned the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer's name instead of the party's flagbearer at a recent event.
Around the same time, the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi also committed a similar error.
Reacting to the incidents during a Youth Forum organised by the NDC in Ho on Tuesday, Mr Mahama remarked that the President's slip might indicate a vision of him becoming the next president.
“Out of abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, and so when the president goes and he's talking about his administration and he says Akufo-Addo/Mahama administration, this is unpardonable.
“It means he dreamt about me the night before. And it's not only him, even his Ashanti chairman,” he said.
The NDC flagbearer suggested that his political opponents have inadvertently endorsed him and urged everyone to vote for him in the upcoming December 7 general elections.
“We can read their minds from what they are thinking and what they are dreaming about. The time has come for us to take our destiny into our own hands,” Mr Mahama added.
