The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has appealed to electorates in the Volta Region to give him more than 90% of presidential votes on December 7.
He said this would enable him to clinch victory to rid the country of the mess the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration has visited on the country, and lead it to the promised land.
Mr. Mahama was speaking at a rally in Juapong in the North Tongu district on the first day of his campaign tour of the Volta Region.
“We must re-establish NDC’s world bank here in Volta Region. We don’t want 84%, we don’t want 85%, we want above 90% in Volta Region”, he stressed.
He lamented that votes for the NDC have reduced over the years due to a crafty propaganda engineered by the New Patriotic Party (NPP), fuelled with money to convince electorates to vote for the governing party.
He chastised the NPP for deliberately denigrating the NDC and its achievements in the Volta Region just to sway electorates to their side.
Mr. Mahama implored the electorates to take cash and other material inducements that would be offered them by agents of the ruling government but ensure they vote for the NDC on December 7 to enable him to restore the country’s economy.
He added that he would need the majority of seats in parliament to help him deliver on his mandate and ensure a successful implementation of his promises.
“We need the majority of seats and, therefore, we need all our MPs back so that we can begin the work of reviving this economy that has been destroyed by Bawumia and Akufo-Addo”, he said.
