A 15-year-old, Constance Kisbour Mensah, who was reported missing on July 28, 2024, has been found alive and is reportedly in good health.
Her disappearance had caused concern after she went missing after being punished for returning home late from the barber shop.
Constance was reportedly found on August 9, 2024 near the Kasoa station with a woman who had allegedly been accommodating her.
The woman fled when Constance’s relatives approached.
She was sighted by a cadet trainer who informed her school authorities and Police about her location, in a bid to verify her claims that she is a school dropout.
After being taken to the Police station for questioning, Constance initially resisted but later confided in a senior CID officer about her reasons for fleeing home.
She admitted that, she had been persuaded by a classmate and her relative to travel to their hometown for a festival.
The classmate’s relatives had allegedly instructed Constance to keep the trip discreet, prompting her to pack a few belongings and leave home without permission.
When the planned trip did not materialize, Constance, fearing punishment, wandered for days before being taken in by the woman, who exploited her for her thrift (foos) business.
Constance has been reunited with her parents while Police continue investigation into the incident.
