Senior Campaign Advisor to independent presidential candidate Alan Kyerematen, Nana Ohene Ntow, has stated that Ghanaians are seeking change beyond the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He noted that there has never been a time like this when such a broad section of voters is calling for change.
Mr Ntow emphasised that one of the key things pollsters should consider is whether people genuinely want change, rather than merely focusing on the NPP and NDC.
Speaking on JoyNews AM Show, Mr Ntow said, “I respect statistics a lot. As an academic and social researcher myself, you can never discount statistics but also have to deal with certain significant social dynamics that are emerging around this time. Now, when Alan Kyerematen broke away from the NPP and launched the Movement for Change, he was derided, laughed at, and mocked so seriously, especially by the top leading members of the NPP.”
He stated that Alan Kyerematen is telling Ghanaians that under the Fourth Republic, the country has been managed by the NDC and NPP, with unsatisfactory results.
Mr Ntow said that, given the widespread demand for change, it is crucial to have a leader who understands the dynamics and believes that such change will benefit the country's democratic experience, economic progress, and social development.
He noted that Alan Kyerematen is the best candidate to deliver this.
“And of course, when a person steps into a situation of that nature, you are not going to tell me because the environment looks challenging, therefore they should not venture.”
