Entrepreneur and National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Okaikoi Central, Baba Sadiq has advised entertainment industry stakeholders to cease criticism of Deputy Minister Mark Okraku-Mantey over unmet expectations.
Speaking in an interview with DJ Slim on Daybreak Hitz, the politician attributed the creative industry's slow progress to the government's inadequate support, not Mark Okraku-Mantey's efforts.
Baba Sadiq emphasised Okraku-Mantey's efforts as insufficient without presidential backing and government support.
People should stop blaming Mark Okraku-Mantey for not delivering on political promises for the Creative Sector; they should blame the President directly. – Baba Sadiq. #DaybreakHitz pic.twitter.com/hjDkJcjaWO

"People should just stop this thing and stop picking on Mark specifically because they have issues with him, they have to pick on the government. There's no strong will by the government to say, 'We are looking to develop the creative industry. We're looking to enable the creative industry. These are the big vision, bold ideas, and things we are looking to do.' Those things are not there," he noted.
He elaborated on Mark Okraku-Mantey’s limitations as deputy minister and shifted focus to the President urging critics to remind him of unfulfilled promises to the creative industry.
“He can't do anything. He's a deputy minister. People like to pick on him, but they should talk to the president directly. And say, 'Chief, in the past 8 years, you've made twenty-one promises to us. You've not been able to deliver this.
“What is happening? Speak about some of these things, instead of blaming Mark for his inability to deliver,” Baba Sadiq said.
