Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the presidential running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed confidence in her party's flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, as the ideal leader for Ghana at this critical juncture.
Speaking to NDC supporters at Twifo Praso during her campaign tour of the Central Region on Tuesday, August 6, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang criticised the current administration for driving the country into a severe economic crisis with no apparent solutions.
She emphasised the need for a change in leadership, arguing that Ghana cannot afford to continue on its current path of economic decline.
According to Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, electing the right leader is crucial for steering the country out of its present difficulties.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang highlighted Mahama's prior experience as a former president, asserting that he possesses the necessary skills and knowledge to address Ghana's economic challenges effectively.
She also underscored that Mahama's proposed policies, including the 24-Hour Economy, Women Development Bank, National Apprenticeship Programme, and the Big Push, demonstrate his commitment to the well-being of Ghanaians and offer a clear path toward recovery and growth.
“Mr Mahama has a good heart and he has respect for all Ghanaians, especially women. He has done it before and will even do more to cushion Ghanaians when elected”, she said.
