The Executive Director of Puzuri Group of Companies Limited, Abdul-Rahaman Yahaya, has received recognition as one of Africa's most respected Chief Executive Officer (Agriculture Sector).
The 4th Edition of the Africa's Most Respected CEOs Award was organised by the Business Executive Group (TBE) ceremony, held at the Concord Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya, on August 1, 2024.
The TBE aims to recognise individuals who have demonstrated exemplary leadership and commitment to the continent's economic growth.
This year's theme,"Energising the African Corporate Community to Revolutionise Industrialisation," reinforces the importance of visionary leadership in driving industrialisation and sustainable development in Africa.
Speaking after his award, the Executive Director of the Puzuri Group of Companies, Abdul-Rahaman Yahaya, expressed gratitude to the organisers, judges, and his team, emphasising that the award is a proof of their collective hard work and vision.
He highlighted the critical role of agriculture in Africa's economy and the need for innovative and sustainable practices to tackle challenges like climate change, food security, and market access.
"I call for enhancing partnerships to build resilient food systems, create jobs, and ensure food security. I believe the recognition as one of Africa's most respected CEOs highlights the significant contributions of Puzuri Group of Companies to the agricultural sector," he indicated.
He indicated that Puzuri Group of Companies Limited is renowned for its innovative outgrower and ingrower schemes, youth training programs, urban backyard farming initiatives, and advancements in aquaponics and livestock rearing.
"The company's partnerships with organisations such as SNV-Netherlands Development Organisation, Savanna Agricultural Research Institute (SARI), National Service Scheme Scheme (NSS), BioAquaGardens Limited, and ICOUR have been instrumental in promoting sustainable agricultural practices and technological innovation," he indicated.
Mr Abdul-Rahaman Yahaya added that the award has brought honour to him and demonstrated the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Puzuri's operations.
"It is imperative that by focusing on SDGs such as zero hunger, no poverty, decent work and economic growth, industry innovation and infrastructure, and climate action, Puzuri is contributing to the overall development and well-being of communities across Africa," he indicated.
The Business Executive Group (TBE) is a organisation dedicated to promoting business excellence and fostering cross-border trade and investment in Africa.
Through initiatives like the Africa's Most Respected CEOs Award, TBE aims to recognise and celebrate the achievements of outstanding leaders who are driving economic growth and development on the continent.
