The Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Edward Omane Boamah, has urged the party's agents to remain vigilant during the upcoming mop-up voter registration exercise.
The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that this exercise will begin on Thursday, August 1, and conclude on Saturday, August 3.
The EC aims to register approximately 700,000 voters during this period. Dr Omane Boamah emphasised the importance of this exercise and called on party agents to ensure they do not let the party or the Ghanaian public down.
The former Communications Minister highlighted the critical role of vigilance throughout the registration process.
He encouraged the agents to be attentive and diligent to guarantee the integrity of the exercise.

In his statement via Facebook on Wednesday, July 31, Dr Omane Boamah reiterated the necessity for the agents to maintain their focus and dedication, ensuring a smooth and fair registration process.
"From tomorrow, Thursday, 1st August, to Saturday 3rd August, all Ghanaians 18 years and above who are eligible to vote but not already registered voters will be expected to register at the District offices of the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana."
"According to the EC, the mop-up registration exercise will also be conducted in both 41 prison centres and 26 public universities."
"Accordingly, we urge NDC agents and political actors across the country to be extra vigilant throughout the three-day registration period."
"This call for heightened vigilance from the high echelons of our great party is necessary because the current voter's register, which the EC states has 18,681,366 voters, is not fit for purpose!"
