Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC has reaffirmed its commitment to quality education by donating a state-of-the-art Smart Board to the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).
The 75-inch Smart Board, equipped with multi-touch functionality, wireless connectivity, and digital tools, will enhance the university’s digital lab, allowing for better engagement and simulations by lecturers and students.
During the presentation ceremony at UEW, Joseph L. Ashong, General Manager for Commercial and Retail Banking at Republic Bank, highlighted the bank's commitment to four United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including Quality Education (SDG4).
"We believe this smart board is an educational tool to enhance the university's teaching and learning experience, providing students and faculty with modern, interactive technology," he said.
Prof. Stephen Jobson Mitchual, Vice Chancellor of UEW, expressed gratitude to Republic Bank for the donation.
"The smart board will transform teaching and learning in our institution by providing students and lecturers with a cutting-edge tool to navigate the complexities of technology," he stated.
Attendees from the UEW community included Prof. Victor Antwi, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Mrs Wilhemina Tete-Mensah, Acting Registrar; Dr. Augustine Monney, Director of ICT Services; and Mr. Amos Amamoo, Secretary. Republic Bank was represented by Mr. Joseph L. Ashong, Mr. Pious Twum Barima, Southern Sector Manager; Mrs. Leila Pentsil, Manager of Communications; Mrs. Sussie Afriyie, Branch Manager of Winneba; Mr. Kwaku Acquaah; and Ms Irene Enyonam Quaye.
