The Member of Parliament for Ejura Sekyeredumase in the Ashanti region has expressed his determination to retain the seat.

Mohammed Braimah Bawah has therefore served notice to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate to explore other constituencies if she hopes to enter Parliament after the December 7 election.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP is confident of retaining the Ejura seat based on what he said are his achievements, stating that his accomplishments and dedication to the constituency make him the ideal candidate to continue representing the people of Ejura Sekyeredumase in the next Parliament.

Mr. Braimah Bawah says the NDC has learnt from the 2012 mistake that cost them the seat and has taken steps to ensure the party's continued victory in the constituency, even beyond his tenure.

"The NDC will not repeat its 2012 error, which allowed the NPP to take the seat; instead, we will secure a lasting victory, maintaining control of the constituency beyond Mr Bawah's term,” he said.

The Ejura MP noted that the NDC's leadership in the constituency is now more united than ever, which will translate into a strong performance and favourable outcome in the December 2024 elections.

While presenting a 75-horsepower agricultural tractor unit to victims of the Frante accident, he called on party loyalists to actively contribute to the NDC's return to power, which he says would bring relief to Ghanaians.

Mr Bawah observed that the NDC has never lost the presidential election in the area.

“Since 1992, NDC has never lost the presidential election in Ejura-Sekyeredumase,” he stated.

The Second Deputy National Organiser of NDC, Elikem Kotoko emphasised that politics should ultimately benefit the people through development. He appealed to party grassroots supporters to embrace tolerance and unity among themselves, stressing that this is crucial for the party to achieve victory.

He emphasised that everyone should be committed to Ghana's development, and that anyone who truly desires the country's progress should work towards ensuring John Mahama becomes the next president.

“We must all be dedicated to see Ghana better, once you believe you want to see the progress of this country, you don’t need to be a member of NDC to ensure Mr Dramani becomes the next president,” he stated.
