Media personality Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD) has expressed his support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its flagbearer, John Mahama, in the upcoming presidential election.
Speaking to NDC supporters at the campaign launch in Tamale, Northern Region, KOD praised Mahama’s leadership, vision, and commitment to Ghana's youth.
He emphasised the pressing need for a change in government to address the country’s challenges.
”Today, I stand in front of you with strong confidence that we may need that change, but we will get it. And that’s why I stand here today to endorse His Excellency John Dramani Mahama as the next President of the Republic of Ghana.”
“Before the turn of the last millennium, we saw him in 1996, serving his people in Bole Bamboi, I endorse President Mahama because he embodies the leadership and vision our country needs at this crucial time in our history," he stated.
KOD praised Mr. Mahama’s emphasis on youth and job creation, highlighting his comprehensive economic plans.
He urged young people to actively participate in the electoral process, stressing their involvement in shaping the country's future.
“I am confident that the John Mahama 24-hour economy will create decent jobs for the youth in all sectors, including the creative arts and hospitality industries.
"Even exciting is his promise to train one million Ghanaian youth and invest three million in ICT to create 300,000 more jobs.”
“Many of our young people are at Harvard University, yet they are staying at home doing nothing. We need change. We need change.”
“The youth of this country, is this how you want to live? To the youth of this country, is this how you want to live? Reach out to your friends, anyone above 18 to turn out in numbers on December 7th to vote. Call out and you will help take this country to the next level," he added.
