The running mate to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has called on critics to cease comparing John Mahama’s administration with the current government.
Speaking at the launch of the party’s campaign in Tamale, she emphasized the futility of such comparisons and highlighted Mr. Mahama’s new policy proposals.
“Those who make comparisons, you don’t compare different things. Don’t compare his performance or achievement to what this current government is giving us. It is like comparing cassava to oranges. There is no commonality among them,” she said on Saturday, July 27.
According to her, although Mr. Mahama has been in government before, and might not be perfect, he did the best he could.
“I want to thank the entire Northern section of our country for giving the NDC, and Ghana, a person who prioritizes truth over lies, a person who doesn’t give false promises. We have tried him. He has been off the radar, reflected on what is going on, and he is coming with new policies,” she stated.
Madam Opoku-Agyemang expressed appreciation for Mr. Mahama’s unwavering commitment to the nation despite previous challenges.
She also called on all NDC supporters to rally behind John Mahama and work diligently to prevent the country from regressing.
“When all of us have supported in doing the hard work, this country will not return to such a status again,” she concluded.
