The 2024 National Campaign Manager of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof Joshua Alabi, has assured the people of Tamale in the Northern region of the party's commitment to protecting their votes.
Prof Alabi is confident in the party’s ability to capture political power. However, he added that this is only possible if residents step out to vote.
Speaking at the NDC official campaign launch in Tamale, he explained that Ghana is a democratic state, hence, each time someone loses an election, they always hand over political power.
In view of this, he encouraged all NDC sympathizers not to be afraid of "result tampering".
“These people, they will lose and they will hand over peacefully. If common hotels they handed over peacefully, then what of the main elections.
“So those making noise they will handover and run away. We are assuring everybody here that we are going to protect your vote so go and vote. Be very confident. Go and vote and we shall protect the vote,” he said.
Again, Prof Alabi told the crowd that the NDC flagbearer is seeking a second term in order to create jobs for the people. He explained that John Mahama has policies for all sectors including apprenticeships.
The Chair of the Campaign Team noted that not everyone would want to go to tertiary institutions, hence the party is committed to creating policies so that those in the informal sector will benefit as well.
