In a bid to help achieve the Sustainable Development Goal 1 which is reducing poverty, a non-governmental organisation, the Chayil Foundation has committed to helping widows and single mothers in some parts of the country to build wealth to live dignified lives.

The company provides healthcare, legal aid, vocational and skills development programmes for the widows and single mother’s to build their capacity in order to improve the lives of their families.

At a fund raising ceremony, Founder of the Chayil Foundation Eileen Ninson said, the plan is to take these women out of poverty through healthcare support and skills development.

“We are more interested in the Sustainable Development Goal one which is reducing poverty so we have four schemes that we are undertaking, we are providing them with healthcare, vocational and entrepreneurial skills development, legal aids and micro-finance schemes to help them get capital to expand or set up businesses,” she said.

The Chayil Foundation is focused on empowering widows to attain financial independence in order to improve their living standards. The foundation has supported 82 widows the Offinso and Dodowa Municipalities in many areas

According to the Founder of the Chayil Foundation Eileen Ninson, it is important for individuals to help improve the lives of the marginalized in society.

A partner of the foundation, Andrew Osei called on individuals and other non-governmental organisations to support Chayil foundation in impacting lives.

The Chayil Foundation is a dedicated Non-Governmental Organization committed to addressing the challenges faced by widows in the developing world, where they often encounter violations of their rights.

The Organisation seeks to empower widows and single mother’s by focusing on disinheritance, discrimination, and harmful practices, including sexual violence and degrading rites to create a more equitable society.
