All is set for the start of the 2024 KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship after the Ghana FA launched the 4th edition in Accra on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
The competition will run from July 25 to August 8, 2024 at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram after hosting the previous edition in Kumasi.
The championship has been an avenue for unearthing talents for clubs across various divisions.
“The KGL Foundation is committed to supporting the development of young football talent in Ghana,” Programs Manager at the KGL Foundation Nii Sarpey, said at the launch.
“This tournament provides a platform for U-17 players to showcase their skills and potentially become future stars of Ghanaian football.”
On behalf of the Ghana FA is Executive Council Member Dr. Randy Abbey, who said: “We are grateful for the KGL Foundation’s partnership in developing young football talent.
"We have outlined suitable measures to ensure a successful hosting of the event, and we look forward to an exciting tournament.”
Defending champions Ashanti Region, Bono Ahafo Region, Volta Region, Central Region, and Northern Region are pitted in Group A while Greater Accra Region, Eastern Region, Upper East Region, Upper West, and Western Region make up Group B.
Prizes will be awarded at the end of the competition including top scorer, Best Player, Best Goalkeeper, and Discovery of the Year.
