The Concerned Chiefs of the North (CCN-Ghana) have called on government to take immediate and decisive action to address the growing security concerns in the Wa municipality of the Upper West Region and Bole District in the Savannah Region.
They urged traditional authorities, religious leaders, and civil society organisations to unite in condemning these heinous crimes and promote peace in their communities.
The appeal follows a series of killings in these regions, the latest occurring in Wa just a few days ago.
In a statement, CCN-Ghana Chairman Chief Naa Jamaah Mataraah and Co-coordinator Chief Tandawura Amin condemned the brutal violence that has claimed precious lives, extending their condolences to the victims' families.
They called on security agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
The Concerned Chiefs of the North, a platform of chiefs from the five northern regions, work with stakeholders for the area's development.
Meanwhile, CCN-Ghana praised the paramount chief of the Gonja Traditional area, Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale II, for his historic visit to the Overlord of Dagbon, Yaa-Naa Mahama Abukari II.
The group hailed this visit as a significant milestone in fostering unity and peace among Northern Kingdoms and commended Yagbonwura for his leadership in bridging gaps and strengthening bonds between the two kingdoms.
They encouraged other kingdoms within the five Northern Regions to emulate this noble gesture, working together towards a united and harmonious Northern Ghana.
