President Akufo-Addo has commissioned the 120-bed Fomena Hospital project in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region, concluding a prolonged delay in its completion.
Initiated in 2014, the project encountered multiple postponements due to funding issues, raising concerns among residents of the Adansi Traditional Area who urged authorities to ensure its completion.
During the inauguration ceremony on Wednesday, President Akufo-Addo highlighted that the hospital’s completion underscores the government’s dedication to providing modern health facilities that meet current healthcare standards nationwide.
He noted that similar hospital projects had been completed in Kumawu, Fomena, and Takoradi, showcasing the government's ongoing efforts in enhancing healthcare infrastructure.
President Akufo-Addo assured that the government remains committed to completing several other healthcare projects by the end of the year, reinforcing the nation’s health infrastructure.
He emphasised that these efforts are part of the government’s broader commitment to achieving universal health coverage and ensuring improved and more efficient healthcare for all Ghanaians.
