The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has said it will maintain professionalism to ensure peace and stability in the upcoming December elections. 

His commitment underscores the vital role of the GAF in safeguarding the nation's democratic processes.

This was expressed by the Chief of Defense Staff, Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong-Peprah.

Lieutenant General Oppong-Peprah emphasized that the GAF, in collaboration with other security agencies, will vigilantly protect Ghana's borders from any external threats. 

This concerted effort aims to prevent disruptions and maintain national security during the election period.

Addressing the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, Lieutenant General Oppong-Peprah reaffirmed the military's dedication to safeguarding Ghana’s peace. 

He highlighted that these efforts would be sustained before, during, and after the polls to ensure a secure environment for all citizens.

“We want to assure our father and everyone that together, we will continue to maintain the peace and security of this country and we will continue to perform our duties as the Ghana Armed Forces to ensure that this country’s safety, stability, and peace are all well maintained and we will need his prayers in this direction."

“As we prepare for this year’s elections, we want to assure everyone in Ghana that we will play our role professionally to ensure that peace and security are maintained," he said.
