President Akufo-Addo has appointed Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Majority Leader and Member of Parliament for Effutu, as the new Board Chairman of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
This appointment was detailed in a letter signed by the Executive Secretary to the President, Nana Asante Bediatuo.
Mr Afenyo-Markin succeeds Herbert Krapa, who has now taken on the role of Minister of State at the Energy Ministry.
Mr Krapa had replaced Keli Gadzekpo, who resigned from the position on March 26.
"The President of the Republic has nominated Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin (MP), Member of Parliament for Effutu in the Central Region, as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Electricity Company of Ghana Limited."
"Kindly take the necessary steps to give effect to the President's nomination in accordance with the Companies Act 2019 (Act 992) and the Regulations of the Company," the letter said.
