Miss Akwaaba Season 3 contestants and Captain Sey of MV Dodi Princess II

Eight contestants remain in the ongoing Miss Akwaaba Season 3 pageant and they had loads of fun as well as some edifying moments at Akosombo in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region on Saturday, July 13, at the invitation of Volta Hotel and Dodi World.

Akosombo is a historic location in many ways and being there afforded the young women an opportunity to soak in useful information to enhance their general outlook and participation in the culture and tourism reality show.

Miss Akwaaba Season 3, organised by Joe Osae’s Ceejay Multimedia outfit, started in mid-May this year with 17 contestants. A key aim is to groom young folks to adequately appreciate and effectively communicate the inherent goodness in our culture and tourism products.

“The Akosombo trip was a delightful learning process for the contestants,” said the Ceejay Multimedia CEO who accompanied them together with the show’s judges, some Ghana Tourism Authority representatives and other relevant aides. “We are warmly received and we are grateful to Volta Hotel and Dodi World for the thrilling and valuable experience.”

One of the exciting moments of the Akosombo visit was the cruise on the MV Dodi Princess II pleasure boat, one of the multi-fold tourism facilities operated by Dodi World. With Captain Sey at the controls, it was a lively atmosphere aboard the boat with live music, dancing and tasty food.

“What Volta Hotel and Dodi World offer in that corner of Ghana is special. They bring unique, enlightening components to the travel and leisure scene and I urge more people to check them out,” Joe Osae stated.

The winner of Miss Akwaaba Season 3, among other perks, will drive home a car. She will also receive a cash prize of GHȼ10,000. The first runner-up gets a cash prize of GHȼ7,000 and the second runner-up receives GHȼ5,000.

In addition, the three ladies will enjoy a weekend stay at the Volta Hotel, by courtesy of the hotel’s management and Dodi World.

“Miss Akwaaba is just one of the ways of bringing attention to the opportunities that abound in the culture and tourism sectors. There’s often talk about unemployment for our young people but there are outlets on the culture and tourism fronts to gainfully absorb some of them,” says Ceejay Multimedia’s Joe Osae.

In its 10th week at the moment, Miss Akwaaba Season 3 shows live every Sunday at 7.00pm on Ceejay TV and Akwaaba TV. There’s also a livestream on all its social media platforms. The final event of the pageant will be held on Sunday, August 11 at the National Theatre.
