The Board of Directors of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has congratulated the Commissioner-General, top management, and staff for surpassing the Authority's mid-year revenue target for 2024.
In a statement signed by Joe Ghartey, Chairman of the GRA Board of Directors, the achievement was hailed as historic and outstanding, particularly in light of the numerous challenges faced.
The statement emphasized the commendable performance of the GRA team in meeting and exceeding expectations despite the obstacles encountered.
Mr Ghartey highlighted the collective effort and resilience exhibited by the Commissioner-General and the entire GRA staff in achieving this milestone.
He expressed confidence that this success sets a strong foundation for continued effective revenue mobilization efforts supporting national development goals.
“This historic performance was achieved against a background of strong headwinds, including the seasonal challenges in achieving revenue targets in election years,” it said.
“The Board strongly believes in the ability and the determination of management and staff of GRA to work against all these odds and will continue to support them to achieve their targets,” the statement added.
The statement also indicated that the Commissioner-General would provide further details on these accomplishments later this week.
Additionally, the Board urged all stakeholders, including taxpayers and the business community, to continue supporting the GRA in enhancing revenue mobilization efforts.
They emphasized the importance of collaboration and cooperation from all sectors to improve further the Authority's performance in revenue collection and administration.
