A new computer lab has been built in memory of David Gboloo, the former headmaster of Osu Presbyterian Secondary School, who was born in Gboloo Kofi.
The project was spearheaded by his son, Dr David Kwame Tawiah Gboloo, a medical doctor in the United States.
The school has faced challenges such as poor infrastructure and the need for crucial financial support to remain competitive and thriving.
Mr David Gboloo was passionate about basic and childhood education, believing it to be the foundation of community and national development in Ghana.
He firmly held that the nation's future hinges on providing good and sound education to its youth.
Recognising the importance of information technology and computer science as essential skills in today's industries, Dr David Gboloo saw the necessity of establishing this computer centre.
The lab aims to foster further learning for students at Gboloo Kofi Primary School and JSS, and those from surrounding schools.
The new computer lab is equipped with 20 computers and all the necessary accessories to ensure it is fully functional.
Dr Gboloo hopes the community will fully embrace this gesture, allowing it to significantly impact the lives of the youth.
Dr Kwame Aniapam Boafo, an obstetrician and gynaecologist in the United States and President and CEO of the La Constance Center for Global Health, an NGO, played a crucial role in the project's execution.
His advice and guidance were vital throughout the construction, shipping, and installation of the computers.
Dr David Gboloo expressed his deep gratitude to his family and the Gboloo Kofi community for their receptiveness to the idea.
He also thanked the teachers and students who contributed in various ways to complete the project.
